Bird Surveying Revegetation Sites
One of the key outcomes of environmental restoration projects is to achieve ecologically functional ecosystems. Birds are an ideal indicator of ecological function, and as part of the ongoing monitoring of Council's offset revegetation projects, bi-annual bird surveys have been conducted. These surveys record both summer and winter migratory species, ensuring important information is being gathered about bird recruitment and use of the sites as they mature.
The information gained from these surveys will ensure that future revegetation projects are designed in such a way to ensure that ecological functionality is achieved.
