One of the oldest and historically most significant insect collections in Australia, containing specimens dating from 1756.
Large holdings of non-Australian material and over 9000 type specimens housed.
The collection was established in 1887 and continues to the present.
All orders represented, in particular large collections of Coleoptera, Hymenoptera and Lepidoptera.
Kingdoms covered include: Animalia.
