Description

The fish collection is comprised of over eleven thousand registered lots. The collection has a strong regional focus with freshwater fishes of southern and central Australia and Southern Ocean marine fishes, including deep-sea species, well represented.

The collection is currently being utilised for research centered on the taxonomy and phylogeography of various fish groups of interest, being conducted by researchers from the museumâ??s Evolutionary Biology Unit and the University of Adelaide.
